Hi, my name is Dustin I am 19 years old. I graduated High School last year and have been working in a large retail store. I really want to go back to school to be a firefighter. I am not sure where to begin. I think I need to take fire science first, but not sure. I would like to talk to a firefighter who would not mind being a mentor. I have not had a lot of guidance in my life. My mother has been a drug addict for the last 25 years and my father has never met me. I have lived with different family members most of my life, most recently my grandfather who thought, since I was 18 I should start taking care of myself. I have lived with 2 other friends ever since. My Aunt is like my mother, she has always been there for me emotionally. She has not always been able to help financially because she has been raising my sister for the the last 8 years, my sister is now 10. I want to be able to set a good example for my sister. I am not very studius, but since firefighting is what I really want to do I just need a little encouragement and guidance. My aunt is willing to take me in since the place where I am currently living will be torn down. She wants to me to move home so that I can devote all my time to just studying and not worry about how to pay the bills.
